Burning smell from brand new Diesel Sierra 1500

Mine smelled like a bad gym locker for short stretches, I'm guessing during regen.  Haven't noticed anything like it in the last few months though.  I'm at 13k mi now.

I hate to though a wrench in the subject but i have a 2020 sierra with approximately 27.000 miles on it GAS (non Diesel) that had the same problem today. Drove it about 10 miles in snow 4x4 hi and noticed the burning ruber smell. I got out to see if it existed stonger outside the cab, it did not. When I returned after a few seconds ,engine still running, I could see faint smoke near passenger side dash area. I'm going to schedule a service appointment Monday,  I'll let you know what they say.
