Single Turbo Group Buy

Turbo Kit!!!!  Who is down to boost!!  Working on interest for a group buy of a single turbo kit for the 2019-present 1500 5.3 or 6.2.  YES, doing this will void warranty NO you can’t do it without tuning the truck.  No your dealership will not install and cover it ??‍♂️ hope that covers the basics $4400 plus turbo for the kit $1100 required down.  Details of the kit below.  Minimum for deal is 10 kits but maximum kits is 20 (don’t want to bog ourselves down). All made here in Bismarck ND.  All American made.

You will be required to do your own ECM swap and obtain your own credits.  You will also have to ensure fueling requirements (but seems like these trucks fueling handles well over 500whp stock)

This kit is shown with a VS 7875 but can also be done with S300 and a couple of other options from journal to billet.

Hot side:

The manifold is fabricated from thick 304L stainless pipe and is TIG welded and back-purged for maximum quality, strength and longevity. As you can see it has the crossover merge right before the turbine inlet in order to keep the O2 sensor signals separate from bank-to-bank(your tuner will appreciate this). Trust me, it is MUCH easier to put a flange at the back of the manifold and run all the gasses together on the passenger side but your fuel tuning will suffer. Did I mention that the spark plugs are just as easy to access as they were when your truck was stock or that you can use your stock plug wires without any sleeves? Again, your tuner(and you) will appreciate this.

The crossover is all 304L stainless TIG welded and back-purged and incorporates a stainless bellows vs. a braided flex coupler. This part gets HOT and requires the most robust expansion joint available.

The down pipe is(you guessed it) 304L stainless TIG welded and back-purged. Standard size is 3” but 3.5” is an available option and 4” can be done by special order. Because of the available options and customer preferences I decided to end the exhaust at the down pipe with an optional Vband clamp. You will be responsible for making the final exhaust connection( or not if that’s your style)

Turbo will be selected by you from VS or BW in various size and types and even options for T6.
Kit will come with Turbosmart BOV and WG.

Cold Side:

The tubing is all 6061 aluminum with bead rolled ends for stable connections under pressure. All of the silicone connections are made by high quality Vibrant couplers with Vibrant T-bolt clamps and a 4″ Vibrant air filter. There are a few intercoolers to choose from but the base unit’s core measures 24”x12”x3.5” and is sufficient for up to around 600whp.

Miscellaneous:

Oil feed is -04 AN and comes from a block that is installed at the oil cooler fitting on the engine block. Oil drain is pre-built -10 AN and is made of pushloc fittings and hose capable of 300 psi and designed for transporting fuel and oil, no cheapo barbed fittings with heater hose here. You will get a set of NGK spark plugs(#6510), tools for drilling and tapping the oil pan for the drain, a couple of brackets for minor part relocation, some new heater hose pieces with connectors to make the install a little cleaner and a generous amount of DEI heat shielding.

LMAO what kind of set-up is that? That thing and I mean thing needs to go back to the design dept. Looks like someone went to home depot and bought tubing and slapped it together, I guess people will have to cut a huge hole in there hood to fit it. Very back yard mechanic set-up. Sorry but couldn't help but laugh at it.

Looks like the same turbo kit cleetus mcfarland made for ruby. Guess you arent going to be running a hood on your truck.

I assure you it fits, I attached the prototype, design.  The turbo will fit under the hood just fine..  you actually have way more room Uber the hood on the T1 platform that you did on the Gen 5 and this fits under the gen 5 good just fine.  Has to sit high to clear accessory drive appropriately.  Here is our Gen 5 fitment.

Your posts come across as you being the seller/creator/owner of this business, and you'd like to get a bunch of people to buy it from you, but you don't want to actually say that.

I’m confused about what you’re saying or not saying...  I am trying to get a group buy going for this kit, I don’t own the business I did not build it, I am selling it though.  I am personal friends with the shop owner who is not a social media person.  So I asked if I could help him out.  I am using his build details for the add and I’m selling it for him.

It would have been appropriate for you to disclose this instead of writing as if you had no direct relationship with the seller.

The comment clearly says that [emoji23][emoji2359]

So then considering there are significant changes to a 19+ engine bay vs a 14-18 that picture is somewhat worthless.

Changes, yes, significant no....  the hot side will have 0 change between generations the only change will be cold side so the photo was to show that it doesn’t sit as high as the unmounted version makes it seem.  The turbo will mount in the exact same location for both generations but cold side routing will be different.

Perhaps you should mount a kit on a 19+ and take pictures before posting a sale thread targeting those vehicles.

And post some gains #s from a 19+ I agree with comment above looks very back yard jobish.

Really wish we had one ready and available we just don’t.  The nice thing is that the hot side is re-producible (due to no change) so building the cold side is the only delay but the group buy provides the opportunity to get a truck from someone who is willing and ready just not financially able.

    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
    • Looking for advice from this group. Took my flawless 2020 6.2 TB to an unnamed shop for routine rear brakes and oil change. Tech forgot to put oil back in after the full service and needles to say, destroyed my engine.  It’s all on their shop video so they are responsible.   I had my Chevy dealer do the analysis and they confirmed its compromised and said engine replacement. The manager said they only get GM reman engines from GM with full 3 yr warranty and the one they would put in is not same as what’s they are swapping out on 21-25 for recall.    I am looking for advice why that would be a different engine because obviously I had the good 6.2 year and replacing it has my concerns with that recall for 21-15   Also what’s the pros and cons of accepting the engine swap vs telling the shop that bricked the truck to pay up so I buy a new truck. I’m concerned about stigma resale eventually if I just decide to get rid of it after the swap or other issues showing up after the swap out.
    • Just looked up my records.  I've never gone over 5000 miles between oil changes.  At 46K miles, I have 10 oil changes.  I hope that will help.  I also installed the disabler last year.  I've still had a few times when it didn't seem to engage (which I can tell because the start stop feature kicks in), but for the most part, I think it's working.  For some reason, GM did not include the number of cylinders running in the information screen like I had on other models.  In my Cadillac, it shows me when it's running on 4 cylinders on the fuel milage screen.  I can't find that on my '21 Denali.
