John Burton Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 2020 Sierra 1500 SLT X31. I am looking for a clean way to install a switch for the light bar as opposed to drilling a hole in my new truck and adding one that is clearly out of place. I know that there is an "upfitter switch" that would add 5 switches but am trying to explore other options. I also know you can replace the whole set of paddle switches but lose all of the icons telling you what the buttons are actually for. I also saw that for older models, people could replace the headlight switch and add a single button that way. My #1 choice would be to install a real switch where the dummy switch is that I'm pointing to. Really hit a dead end with my research and was wondering if anyone had any better ideas. Thanks in advance!
John Burton Posted August 2, 2020 Author Posted August 2, 2020 OR!!!! I could just tap into the fog lights. Do y'all think that one fog light wire could power a 36" LED light bar? its's advertised at 234W.
Unwrntd Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I want to get the upfitter switches but they are on indefinite backorder currently

kioolt Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 What is a good source for the upfitter switches? I can't find them on gmupfitter.com.

Who did you order through? GM Parts outlet. At least from the email they sent, they had to order all of the parts and that caused a week or two delay in shipping. Edit: FYI, if you throw the parts in your cart after creating an account, you'll get some sort of discount. It was minimal. GM Parts outlet was the cheapest on all the parts required that i could find. Edited August 3, 2020 by BetaX

pewterliftedz Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I’m going this route with my truck, I’ll be installing the switch panel where the upfitter switches usually go. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153972940188

The relay can switch power to the light bar. #30 to Power #85 to ground #86 to fog light switched power #87 to Light bar
Reelfun Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 (edited) John, Did you find a solution? I have the same situation but need to add the actuator component as well. The Rhino Sport Bar 2.0 did come with a toggle relay but want to tie into the existing Auxiliary Control Switch. I would like to find a headlamp switch to keep the original look, just add flood lights. https://photos.app.goo.gl/weD5B53Sf7NzayH57 Edited April 2, 2021 by Reelfun
