BBP Tune and Octane Choice

Recommended Posts

interesting idea, I think Techron is one of the better fuels out there , i once left a gallon in my bike  for over 6 months, and it ran great after aging in the garage. no varnish at all.. any nerds out there could datalog fuels and KR would be slick info to know... but even the 5.3 is high compression motor so 91 is a minimum, running 87 is a waste of energy..

I wonder if your picking up noise from the tranny?  sloppy torque converter, pump making noise? or direct injector or AFM  tripping the knock sensor?  anychance you can reflash to stock ecu mapping and do a BBtune comparo

i would add some trans PIDS to your datalog, see if its picking up knock in conjunction with tcc lock up points..

also doesnt histogram feature in HP tuner do a map layout of the 3d timing curve to cross ref with your knock sensor..

i enjoy seeing more people on here using hptuners  and posting up tech info..

Unfortunately highest available here in AZ is 91 Oct. After correcting the High Oct timing map it cruises with almost no KR now so it isn't registering my boom box as KR ?
