XM tuner

Ubid is selling the Sony home/portable XM tuner for $99 before a $100 rebate. After rebate you are out about $8 for shipping. If you have XM in your truck and add another tuner the second one is only 6.99 a month. They have about 1000 available if anyone else is interested.

Has anybody had a good experience with Ubid before? a bad one?

I would be very interested in this deal if I could be sure the rebate would go through.

I am about to add XM to the Tahoe and it would be nice to have it in the shop too.

Then I could quit listening to our local KRAP

It sounds like one of those too good to be true deals....but if the rebate is through XM....it shouldn't matter where you buy it..right???? Maybe I'll check out the XM website and see if they have anything about it???

I've used ubid before and it is pretty much like ebay. I had a very good expereience with them I bought a zip drive a couple of years ago and it is still in use. I give :puke: up for ubid.

I have used ubid several times and not had any problems. Unlike ebay, you are actually buying from ubid in most cases. They usually rip you off on shipping charges but in this case they have a special shipping rate of only 8.99. The rebate is through sony not XM. The rebate forms are posted on the auction site at the bottom. Just scroll through all the information about the auction and print it out. Try and copy and paste the rebate form. If you hit print you will get 9 pages of stuff you don't need.

here is a link to another company offering the rebate but higher price. They have a better picture of the system on their site. Another site offering rebate

here is the rebate stuff copied from ubid's site. the actual form would not copy and paste.

Does anyone here have it in there house?? I would love to get it, but I am wondering where you put the antenna, I am in an Apt, and I can't put the antenna on the roof or anything....does it work on a window sill? But I guess for $100 rebate, I might as well buy it, even if I can't use it now....if it's true deals don't get much better than that.

I've been wanting one of these as well, but am a bit worried about the mounting of the antenna. I noticed they give you one for your car but what about for using it in your home? And how hard is it to mount this antenna to your car? I really don't feel like drilling a bunch of holes in my vehicle.
