Some people just have entirely too much time on their hands.....How many freaking bathrooms can you put into a library?

Just build an outhouse, use the new space indoors for more books, and call it good.

What a load of crap  There's a he!! of a lot more items to worry about in this world than little Johnny's yeast infection. What a bunch of frickin crybabies :D

This kind of BS gets my blood boiling.

By the way, what is a "unisex" bathroom considered? Maybe the name isn't good enough because it was thought up by a caucasion, heterosexual male with a normal wife and 2.3 (straight) kids.

BTW. They should rename the paper to the "Chicago Moron" for publishing this article.

My thoughts exactly......I would think it wouldn't really matter...when you gotta go you gotta go....if you have to think about it that much...you really must not have to go that bad.

The unisex/gender neutral bathrooms are for parents who take their kids in to use the bathroom with them instead of having to say a mother having to take her little boy in the womens bathroom, she can use that one instead..

If I had a little girl and she had to use the bathroom, I wouldn't let her go into the womens bathroom by herself, I would take her in the unisex bathroom and make sure no sicko is in there with her.

They have them in all the Super Lowes around here

That just makes me wanna

I'm sick of having to walk on eggshells in this country. You know what, if you get a sex change or you are "gay", and you feel "offended" because you now don't know if you are a boy or girl, too d**n bad! Go live in another country. At least I won't have to look at you or deal with you.

I think it's about time our leaders had a spine and stood up for what the majority of the population deems as appropriate and moral. When, and if, the majority of the population is getting sex changes, we can worry about this then. Till then, too bad...be offended and leave if you want! :D

The morals of the populace have no place in the law.

The constitution was written in a manner that attempts to keep religious bias from influencing government....Doesn't always work though (still no beer on Sundays, after 2am, or the Lotto in Oklahoma).

Otherwise, the biggest church runs the country....no good.....I don't like fasting.

It's never good when the "moral minority" makes a judgement call for the masses for "their own good". Which is the main reasoning behind seperation of church and state, and a "majority rules" government.

Just my opinion anyways.

Interesting concept. What is the basis for law then?

I don't think the US Constitution actually says that. It talks about establishing religion. Each congressman or senator is allowed to bring whatever biases they happen to have - and I prefer to use the term "world-view", which encompasses any philosophical view of reality - none of which should have pre-eminence in government.

Interesting stuff, and some odd quotes there..., such as "people react to your presentation, not your genitals"

Sure you want people to feel comfortable in society, but at what expense? I'd think that if you're old enough to be using a library, you would have sat down and had a little talk with yourself about "gender identification" and who you think you are.

wow ... how does one respond to such and enlightening article?

“You might have a hard time getting most people to use those bathrooms, which would alienate the people you’re trying to help out.”

At least that person has a little sense. Not that I think there is *any* need for one of these "Politically Correct Crappers" ... but if they were to put one in, everyone and their mother would be watching who chooses to go in that thing! Kinda defeats the purpose, imho. :sigh:

Walmart calls it the "Family Restroom" :sigh:

No, family restrooms are intended for guys who take their young daughters shopping and know better than to take them into the men's room. Also, family restrooms are great for those of us who have spouses that use a wheelchair and need help in the restroom. They weren't designed for people so confused that they can't look between their legs and figure out what door to walk into.
