Ok new to the site so hey there boys and girls

 

So i found this site looking for info on towing but nothing is helping so i figured i would ask the smart old guys

i have a 88 chevy 1500 its not stock .. running a 383 / th350 with no computer coil over shocks in the back for towing and a trailer hitch rated at i think 6000 lbs so my question is how big of a trailer can i pull loaded i dont feel like pulling anything over 7000 but i need to figure what i can pull rear axle is stock 3.73 i belive

You said the hitch is rated at 6,000lbs, that is going to be your answer.

 

Never go beyond what the hitch is rated for, you are going to be in for a bad time if you overload it and something breaks.

In addition to what Cam said, Make sure your trailer has really good brakes because 88-98 brakes are terrible. I have a 90 so I can relate.
