I've been selling on ebay since 2002. It's a rip-off unless you get what you are selling for dirt cheap. I think with paypal fees and eBay fees it's around 15%.

I sold an engagement ring for $3600 a few years ago and ended up with just over $3000.

I used to do all free shipping too. Now I just do if it's a small flat rate box. I figured if they really want it , they will pay for it and they do.
