Snow plow Newbie question

Hello, I am a newbie around here so if this is the incorrect category please advise. 
 

I recently purchased a new 2020 Silverado 2500HD Duramax

i previously owned a 2012 2500HD 6.0 Gas With plow prep pkg. 

I had a Western v plow in which I kept blade. 

 

Unfortunately this one did not have prep pkg.

So question is should I not install my western v plow given it’s a 5600 axle opposed to 6000?

 

I literally only plow my drive.

If ur plowing ur own driveway and taking it off I wouldn't worry about it

 

That's quite the plow to do one driveway

You will be over FGAWR with either option.  You need about 1000 to 1200 lbs in bed with 6000 FGAWR and diesel with a v plow.

I ordered the plow prep on 3500hd. It came with a wire harness that the dealer installed. It's my understanding that this plugs into the alternator and power lead from plow harness. I think it prevents the display screens and other controls from crashing from the heavy voltage variations when operating the plow. I would look into getting this harness. You can look it up on the GM upfitters page.
