Driver window/door ajar

The truck was doing the "open and close driver window" every time I started the truck for the past couple weeks. However today it did not recognize the door being closed and thought it was open leaving the interior lights on etc. This happened intermittently or it wouldn't recognize the door opening and always thought it was closed! I cannot tell whether the "open and close driver window" message is separate from the door ajar and window not working. Anyways I am getting VERY tired of giving the dealer 500$ every time this truck has a hiccup, which is often. What should I do? I read body control module or door harness, as of right now I'm just guessing. Battery is tight cleaned connections as well (they were clean starting out, also newer battery) any help appreciated thanks!!

Sounds like possible broken wires or worn insulation on some wires in the door jamb area. Pull back the rubber boot and inspect all of the wires.

The open and close driver window message means that power and/or ground had been lost to the door. Even a short glitch will bring up that message.

Door harness.

Also check the connector on the door harness that plugs into the window motor. There are circuits there for door ajar and the main power. If there is corrosion in there, that could cause it.

I’ve seen 2 door harnesses with corrosion there causing that symptom.
