Anyone connected an iPod for music playback through their stereo?

I have an older 4th Gen iPod nano trying to get connected to the trucks stereo with no luck.  The iPod is charging and playing music but the truck doesn’t recognize the device in stereo and no sound.

anybody tried or doing this and can provide some ideas what is going on?

I have used an older iPod Nano connected to the USB port in the console with out an issue. I believe the rear ports are power only if you were trying to use that one.

Just copy the stuff off the nano to a usb like this one:

Available in 256GB 128GB 64GB 32GB

Only the black portion will stick out of the usb port, reducing the risk of physical damage.

IIRC, the largest capacity nano was about 16GB.

Can you tell me generation iPod nano you are using?

Not really sure,  Gen 7 according to the apple website. But its the older gen 7, I know it was bought before 2015.

I've also loaded all my iTunes music on a usb drive and it works also.
