Needs 4.10's at a minimum for 35's.

2WD makes it's easy and costs way less than if you had a 4X4. You need to tune for that as well. It will adjust the shift points for the transmission.

I've got 3.42 factory rear axles and no issues with 35s.
Heck, I've been over 90-100 MPH while overtaking and, with a tune, no issues.

Pretty sure I could do 37s the same.
4.10s would be way too high geared, IMO, unless I get into running 40s or 44s.

I know this isn't the same truck, but I had a similar experience with my older Toyota V-6 w/ 5 speed. After I was done with the SAS and went from 33s to 35s, I found myself downshifting a lot more. I went from 4.56s to 4.88s; the difference was night and day.

You do realize my comment was pretty specific to this thread right?

He had a V6 with a huge lift and 35in tire. He needs all the help he can get with that combo.

I mean cool story about what your truck is like with 35's though, it's neat to know that.

With a 6 speed auto, 3.73's would be ideal with 35's. 4.10's would be even better. People that haven't done it or experience the difference just don't understand. The mechanical advantage of better gearing is night and day. The rate at which the truck will pick up speed and the amount of work the truck will put in to maintain speeds with better gearing, you just can't beat it with deeper gears. You'd be left seeing tail lights if someone had a truck with 4.10's and you had 3.42's on 35's and they wanted to play a little on the highway.

The more gears the transmission has the less you need to change on the gearing. The guys with a 4 speeds really need rear gears when they run big tires.
