Tow Mirror features not working.

I recently bought a used 2018 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax from the dealership. The truck came with Tow Mirrors, however, the LED turn signal, LED Parking lamp and the Cargo Lights do not work on both sides. The adjustable power mirrors do work on both sides. I removed the door panel to see if everything was connected and all looked normal. I was trying to find the fuse to see if it may be blown but I can’t find that fuse either. I am mechanically inclined. Also, the dealer said the tow mirrors came with vehicle as per the vin. Any help would be great.

Sounds like a wiring problem or the LEDs themselves.

when i installed tow mirrors on my truck i had the same problem. it turns out that here is another ground wire to be added for those lights to work. i would get in touch with pGamboa or phil at harness doctor, he will explain it for you

They probably weren’t factory. GM is supposed to sell you the door harness with it so they’ll work.

Thanks for the input guys, I’m pretty sure the harness is factory as well as the tow mirrors because when I removed the entire mirror assembly and door panel on both sides, the harnesses was all intact with connections going to each LED light and the harness was wrapped tight as a factory harness should be. I may have to check that extra ground wiring. Since I have no schematic I’ll have to research and find one. I’m gonna figure it out and when I do, I’ll let y’all know what I found.

Yo can you just post the last 8 numbers of your vin?? I can tell you if it came with it or not

Its not that there is an issue with the current ones.  Its a matter of did the previous owner swap them to the PROPER ones to make all the lighting work.  Your truck was built with the DL8 non tow power mirrors (verified by VIN).  It was NOT built with the towing mirrors.  If the PO just threw on tow mirrors and didn't care about the lights not working, they might not have swapped them.  

 

When doing tow mirror upgrades on these 2015-2019 trucks, you have to change out the door harnesses in the door or get modified ones or modify the existing ones to make the lights work.  

Can you find the p/n tag on the door harness and report back with that?
