Navigation Question

I want to change the default position icon on my navigation screen, right now it is an arrow with shaded head. The manual states (page attached) that I can do it once a user profile is created.

I am usually pretty savvy with that kind of stuff but have no clue what I have to do to change the icon. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure it does what is suggested.

Reads to me like it has abilities similar to apps like waze that let the icon be picked from car or motorcycle icons etc.

When a profile (or profiles) are created, a profile picture can be picked from those available on the truck. (trees/flowers/weave pattern/ etc)

The position indicator will still be a circle with an arrow indicating direction, and the profile picture will up inside the circle in the position indicator on the map.

I haven't figured out a way to add to the 'profile pictures' or to change the icon from the circle with picture inside.

The settings menu from inside the nav app seems to be the same as the one that can be reached from settings on the home screen.

I'll also be following thread to hear other suggestions.

I have been going around the Nav issues since buying my 2019....Early in the nav threads there was a lot of talk about being able to "flash" the IOS system to add the Nav if you had the GM maps card & reader....sometime ago that "program" or upgrade was discontinued....so I may be stuck with the I Phone maps via the display....

If you know anything about this....It would be great!

Which brings me to this response is "changing" the display.....can you alter the direction on the maps display? My display always shows the arrow he\aded down...rather than up, forward moving....can this setting be changed?

It would be easirer...at least for me....to understand the display map if the arrow pointed in the direction I was driving VS north/south

If using a phone for navigation, the truck is only used as a display -- it is displaying what the phone is sending. To change the icon / display mode, when running from a phone app, you'll need to change the setting in the app on the phone..

The built-in nav points the 'arrow' in direction of travel, however, like many GPS units/apps the built-in one gives a choice of having the display with 2D north up, 2D with direction of travel up or 3D with direction of travel up.

If you post details regarding what phone/app you are using, maybe someone familiar with the app can offer further suggestion.
