Here it goes!  I bought a 2003 Silverado 1500 Z71 4x4 about 1 month ago.  Literally every time I think Ive fixed problems I discover more.

#1 - Ive heard of the gauge cluster problems but all my gauges work properly except my odometer, trip, and hour meter are not counting properly.  The DIC is lit and works just reads 0 miles all the time, and the trip reads 8 miles.  The hour counter reads about 30 min run time and none have changed after driving it around back roads on test drives.  I searched and found plenty of information on repairing stepper motors and fixing the DIC if it had no power.  Do you think re soldiering the connections to the DIC would solve my issue as well?

#2- Electronic 4wd not working properly.  I have already replaced the switch 2 days ago with no results.  When I first start the truck all lights come on then it either says its in 4 lo, 2wd, or nuetral but it always stays in 2wd no matter what it reads.  Sometimes I can get it into 4hi if I do it as soon as the truck starts.  I can hear audible motor and clunks to confirm 4hi engagement when it does decide to work.  My next step is to replace the position sensor inside the 4wd motor.  Thoughts?

#3- Today while I was driving the transmission wouldn't downshift into 3rd gear from OD even when I floored the pedal.  It also seems like while cruising it switches between OD and 3rd at weird times.  It doesn't slip or shift awkward other than not downshifting when it should.  My alternator is whining and I also believe putting out erratic voltage spikes to 19v for a split second every 5 or 6 seconds.  A NEW Remy alternator is on its way but snow delayed delivery.  Could the alternator cause weird trans issues?  My first instinct would be a TPS sensor but I'm a Jeep guy so not sure, thats what happens to an I6 motor when the TPS goes bad.

#4- When coming to a complete stop the ABS pulsates the brake pedal for a second.  This only happens while under 3mph while coming to a complete stop.  All brake lines have been replaced and bled, as well as new rotors/pads on all 4 wheels.  Bad ABS sensor?  No ABS light or CEL on.

Thanks for any help and for reading my long post!
