I can't wait to get back in the saddle! I'm already starting to hate driving this Grand Prix, I can't see anything on the road in front of me.

Did the silver birch matallic replace the pewter color?

Dont think so. I just bought my 04 as well and the Silver birch (color i went with as well) is a new color but there was a pewter there as well. The silver birch i find was quite a bit lighter. Nice new color though. I love it. Nice to keep clean too.

Congrats on having another truck on the way. As has been said, the waiting will kill you. About the color, Pewter has been dropped. They have Silver Birch and Sandstone (what I have). Sandstone is much golder than Pewter was, especially when sitting out in the sun. Silver Birch isn't tannish like Pewter, but strictly metallic silver/grey. I liked Pewter, but they made so many of them that a new color was needed. I love my Sandstone, and I think the Silver Birch trucks are pretty sharp too!!

Did your dealer say anything to you about "constrants" on ordering diesels?

My dealer said it would probably be 4 weeks before they could put the order in. Then 6-8 weeks til delivery.

Said that GM lets them know each week how many and what kind of vehicles they are going to build that week and what they (the dealership) can order. And by the Duramax being so popular and with the engine upgrade it could be 4 weeks before they picked up the order.

My dealer made no mention of any constraints. He put the order in and he gave me the build/order number. He said he'll call me back with the estimated build date.
