Phone Recognition

My Note 20 Ultra connects to my trucks Bluetooth fine (shows signal and battery on the screen). However, when I try to use voice dial (steering wheel button) it only "finds" a phone about 50% of the time. I drive a lot and the states I drive in it is illegal to have a phone in your hand.

 

Is this common for everyone else?

Mine has done this a couple of times.  Works fine when connected to CarPlay, but won't dial via BT.  My wife's VW Atlas does the same thing.  Can receive a call via BT, but the infotainment system won't dial half the time unless the phone is plugged in.  Manufacturers have gotten lazy, and assume all of us are using CarPlay or Android Auto.

My ultra connects fine in all respects. My truck is a 21. Voice dialing has worked every time. But that has been only 3 times. But has been different days. FWIW.
