i'm new to the forums , ive searched all over and cant find what im looking for

my truck is a 2015 silverado LT 1500

no idea what mirrors it had on it , someone installed towing mirrors and the functions would not work correctly

passenger would only go up and down when using the left to right arrows or vice versa

driver only goes up and down

the pins are not in the correct place for the towing mirrors

truck harness has 9 pins

mirrors have 9 pins

so i took all the pins out from the factory harness on the truck and started testing with voltmeter

but cant get them to work

anyone have a color diagram on the factory plug to see what does what ?

i just want the mirror to move up and down, and side to side for now

ill worry about the other features later on , ive read you have to add 3 wires to the harness or buy PGAMBOA harness

As far as the old mirrors, look in your glovebox at the RPO codes. Should be DL8 if you have an LT. PGamboa is def the man to get your mirrors working 100%. Do you know if they’re oem or aftermarket tow mirrors?

DL8 , I try sending phill a PM but either hes not accepting any or the system doesn't let me because i'm new

these definitely look aftermarket judging by the color of the wires

@pgamboa is a super busy man!  Lol. He’ll get back to you and get you all squared away when he gets a minute. I figured they were aftermarket by the sharply squared connector. If you get a chance, you might be able to unbolt the mirror and see if there’s any markings on the backside of the housing. I wouldn’t be surprised though if he could guess them by looking at the connector with his mental database.

I saw this thread earlier when it was posted, but been super slammed with orders.  This is most definitely an aftermarket mirror based on this wire colors, sleeving, and overall finish of the wire.  Can you explain the pink wire that is out?  Was it like this or did you do this?

The middle row of pins (5 pins total) are your circuits for - Mirror Heat (Pin #8), Mirror Motor Up/Down Control (Pin #9), Mirror Motor Left/Right Control (Pin #10), Ground (Pin #11), Driver Mirror Motor Common (Pin # 12).  The empty slot is position #7 which is not used (for mirror memory) in this mirror.

The top (can only see a red wire in your pic) and the bottom row (all empty), are usually the lighting circuits.

What I would do - is disconnect the passenger mirror and focus on driver only mirror first.  With the driver mirror only plugged in, what happens?  While you're at it, can you confirm the part # of the switch you are using?

Let's keep the troubleshooting here, so it will be visible to everyone.

I have seen aftermarket mirrors that have their motor wires flipped... so this will take some troubleshooting.

i broke the pink wire , rookie mistake , was going to re-pin the mirror harness and then saw everyone re-pining the truck harness , didn't know you had to lift the white tab on the plug , was doing it the old school way lifting the plastic tab next to the pin with a small tiny flat screw driver pulled to hard on the cable , no big deal , easy fix

on the mirror harness passenger side

pink = glass turn signal

blue = side cargo lamp

red = running light front of mirror

black i assume is the heated mirror or ground

on the truck harness passenger side

black i assume is heated or ground from what i read

green with black line  = mirror right

white wire =  left

yellow with brown line = UP

well i got it to work correctly , up down and side to side

and brown with orange stripe is the heating element +

now where do the other 3 go ? or what did they do on the DL8 ? i assume black goes with black ?

and the brown goes with the grey i have left in the middle row ? of the mirror harness

on the truck harness i have left

black with blue line

white with green line

blue with grey line
