Hello i recently bought a 2016 Chevy Silverado ls 4.3 l and when i normally accelerate it barely passes 2000 rpm it always change gears around 2100 rpm when i press the pedal to the floor it doesn't pass 3000 rpm also i noticed when I'm driving on the hwy when i reduce speed and accelerate back it pickup speed very slowly i had the throttle body cleaned i cleaned the maf sensor i use fuel additive from time to time i have no engine light it does have a quick start i was suspecting the spark plugs i do have some minor ticking noise underneath the engine that is hard to notice i was told could be fuel pump that is failing or injectors or in limp mode i never had a Silverado before so not sure if that's how chevy trucks are please help thanks in advance.

Without a scan tool or the vehicle in front of me it's hard to say what is going on.

If you floor it and it won't even rev over 3,000rpm that is a major problem. It should sing all the way out to 5,500-6,000rpm in those 4.3's and then shift into the next gear.

Could be an internal transmission issue or a restriction in the exhaust not letting it breath but these are just guesses.

Thank you for the reply the truck have  ticking  noise when i start it in the morning thenthe tickong  slow down when the engine warms up i have no engine light and stay consistent i used a zurich Zr13 obd scanner but it comes with no codes was all green lights before it was jerking for some time some hiccups and i had the throttle body cleaned was dirty and changed the air filter and I'm putting high quality synthetic oil and filter the jerking almsot gone but i still feel lack of power and when i floor it never passes 3000 i think once it does 3100 rpm i was told i have lifter issue and truck might be in limp mode!!

data log your Map sensor , and post a clip of that.  curious what pressure you read at idle in the manifold , warmed up?

It's not in limp mode.

If it was you wouldn't even be able to drive the truck.

The lifter tick has nothing to do with it not wanting to rev very high. If the engine can rev in neutral or park to 4,000rpm or higher then it's not an engine issue.

Hello thanks again i just warm up the truck and im trying to see how i can get to the map sensor log i did rev in park and it reaches 4000 rpm when i floor it up !

Here is a different reading of the scanner sorry i did drop it last day but may able to still read some infos fuel pressure drops dramatically i don't have the knowledge to say if that's normal those are live data reading the truck is warmed up

I have a throttle position sensor that's reading 16.1% at idle and 32.9% wide open throttle i was thinking that should be more than that !!

16% at idle is normal.

Is that 33% while in park or does it stop at 33% even while driving?

There is a rev limiter for park at 4,000rpm, so it's going to close the throttle even if your foot is to the floor.

***Deleted*** wasn't relevant to the issue with the TPS.  Sorry, didn't notice the TPS part, was just paying attention to the performance loss part.

I have used different additives and use good grade gas but that didn't solve the rpm issue i started to suspect the throttle body sensor thank you though i will try that product eventually .

I don't see how a different fuel or a additive will change anything.

It doesn't rev over 3,000 in gear but it does in park, how will that stuff change anything?

To me this is still a mechanic part issue of sorts.
