Does anyone know where I can download a copy of the official bulletin from GM about the valve spring issue, especially for the 6.2 just in case there are separate ones. I think it would be good to have on hand just in case.

thanks in advance!

From NHTSA:

Looking for my paperwork (wife loves "putting stuff away") which will likely have more info

TSB is PIP5752A

22 SEPTEMBER 2020

#PIP5752A: Service Engine Light misfire engine noise With DTC P0300 P0106 P0506 - (Sep 22, 2020)

Subject: Service Engine Light misfire engine noise With DTC P0300 P0106 P0506

Involved Region or Country North America

Condition

A Vehicle may have a concern of service engine light, misfire and engine noise with possible of DTC P0300 P0106 P0506.

Cause

Possible broken valve spring.

CorrectionDuring inspection if you determine that the engine has a broken valve spring it will be necessary to perform a cylinder leakage test on the affected cylinder.

If no cylinder leakage is observed it will be necessary to replace all valve springs on both banks if the vehicle is built between June 1, 2020 to September 15, 2020. Note: This only applies to the 6.2L engines RPOs L87, LT1, LT4 and LT2. For all other engine RPOs L82, L84 and L8T just replace the affected valve spring.

If you determine that engine has cylinder leakage it will be necessary to inspect further to determine the extent of the engine damage to determine correct repair required.

Important: All valve springs will be requested back for further analysis and inspection.

What dates are the 6.2 motors supposed to be affected?

I'm not sure what the current date range is, it was June 1 2020 through I think mid October, then was revised into September. I'm not aware of any further revisions.

The farging GARBAGE that GM gets away with selling for premium money. Totally avoidable, just poor vendor quality control, driven by the DESCENDING price scale to suppliers.

    • Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!
    • I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

    • Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.
