This is my first GMC in a while so I am not sure if I am answering correctly but I was under the front of the vehicle a week ago and I noticed a thick undercoating on the frame. I questioned it at the dealership and they said it was a protective coating. Never had that on any other vehicle I have owned. Don’t know if that is what you are referring to?

This video shows the waxed frame on the Sierra (starting at 9:40 mark) . Not a fan of how badly this truck had rusted after only one winter of driving.

Fluid Film works great.  Hit the entire underside of the vehicle and inside any hole.  Been using it on City fleet trucks up here with the salt and no issues.
