This is my first GMC in a while so I am not sure if I am answering correctly but I was under the front of the vehicle a week ago and I noticed a thick undercoating on the frame. I questioned it at the dealership and they said it was a protective coating. Never had that on any other vehicle I have owned. Don’t know if that is what you are referring to?

This video shows the waxed frame on the Sierra (starting at 9:40 mark) . Not a fan of how badly this truck had rusted after only one winter of driving.
