Ashton yellets Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Ok so i have a 01 2500hd 4x4 manual shift tcase. So the problem is it wont shift into 4 hi or low. I can set the shifter to either, the 4wd light comes on and the front diff engages but the tcase doesnt seem to be driving the front tires. Ive already changed the sensor/actuator on top of the case that makes the 4wd light come on and that didnt do anything. I have checked the front diff actuator and you can feel it engage. Ive also had the truck running and shifted into 4x4 and tried spinning the front driveshaft and it doesnt spin when its shifted to 4x4. However with the truck off and shifted into 4x4 the front driveshaft spins freely. Would this be a shift fork issue or something else?
Ian Mills Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 So even when you felt the driveshaft and it was not free spinning, the truck still drove like it was in 2wd?
Sharpz Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 If your front actuator is engaging properly and you have tested that, It kind of limits why this isnt working in 4x4 to the transfer case, since you have a manual shifter.

My wuestion is what part of the case though. Would it be the shift fork or whatever connects the rear driveshaft gear to the front driveshaft inside the case?
