Stopped into Verizon today...

Only a tiny little thing.. Much smaller than my StarTac.

I needed to upgrade my calling plan anyway, and my old phone was starting to fail, so i just went for it.  Only $199 with $50/mail in.

I upgraded to the 400 mintues per month for $55.  Its the Nationwide plan. No roaming at all.  :withstupid:

I'll get real pictures, as well as a side by side to my old StarTac when i get home...

I have the V60 and it's a slick little phone.... I first got the red one but it was defective and now have a silver one (with a red back *GRRRR*)  Still trying to get that taken care of, and even the replacement seems to be defective. Because I work for an independent Verizon dealership I got the phone for $23.00 ;)  ONe of the perks.

I have the TDMA version of it on Cingular for around 4 months now and absolutly love it.  :withstupid: I'm sure you will too.

I think it looks so cool that I hate to cover it up with a case, so I only do it when Im out working in the yard..ect

I also picked up the speaker phone attachment (works pretty good too) and the headbuds that turns the phone into an FM strereo (that works ok, nothing special)

I got the same phone.  It has been pretty decent.  Unfortunately it is the second one for me because I did the drop test on my first one.  I got the radio earbuds and a hands free boom that I leave in the car. :music:

Cell phone service must be expensive in NH Mervz.

I have Verizon too, but I pay only $35/month and I have 300 peak minutes and 3000 night and weekend minutes with no long distance and no roaming.

My wife got a new phone through work.  It's a Kyocera.  It's one of those phones that has a PDA built into it.  It'll sync up with her PC just like her old Palm Pilot does that I paid a ton of money for and she doesn't use anymore  :withstupid:

Same here.  I pay $35 for 400 minutes and 3500 night/weekend.

I have the V120c. It is ok, but I am looking hard at the V60.

I've had maybe six phones with four different providers over the past eight years.  And currently I have no phone, but I'm looking to get another.  Right now I just have the OnStar "phone" in my truck.  So I guess that's a seventh phone with my fifth provider...

Anyways, I realy like that v60.  I have a friend who is a store manager at Cingular and that's what he uses.  But they just came out with a new one called the v70.  I think it's only available for Cingular.  It looks really neat.  It "twists" open.  But it looks kinda fragile.  Anyone seen it yet?

No actually, i'm not on the Family, or America's choice network.  Those have the night and weekend stipulations.  I use the Nations Choice plan, $55, 400 anytime/anywhere mintues.  No roaming.  With Americas choice, there are still areas that are roaming.  :withstupid:

Keep us updated on how you new phone does.   I really wanted one of them but I heard that they were having a bunch of problems so I decided to wait a while.

day two, no problems so far...  :withstupid:

The one I have now has been for 6 months.  The previous one I had that I did the drop test on I had for about a year and a half.  I have not had problems with either (except the fact that I'm a klutz and drop it and bang it into things. )  Mine is the CDMA version with Alltel.

I've got the same one, although mine is a V60t (for TDMA I think) and overall I must say I like it.  As per usual with Motorola, I get clear signals in trains, subways, top of skyscrapers, and out in the boonies where the G/F's Nokia simply can't cut the mustard.

I upgraded from a digital StarTac also.  That phone also had crystal clear clarity that her old Nokia couldn't touch.

The one thing that I do like about my old StarTac is some of the quicker access, especially flipping the phone between ring and Vibrate (which I do often when on the train).  With the old StarTac it was simply hit function then 8.  WIth this new V60, I have to scroll through three menus before I even get to ringer select and that's even when customized my menus.  Kinda annoying.

Also, I don't care for the backlighting on the V60.  It's too soft and not bright enough plus it turns off too quickly in the dark even though I have it set for 20 seconds (the maximum).
