Should I reinstall exhaust flapper

It’s been one year since I removed the stock muffler and flapper and covered the vents on the tailpipes, and replaced with a Borla XR-1 straight through muffler. The sound is amazing especially when it’s cold. However the drone on the highway at 1500rpms under load is almost unbearable. I was thinking reinstalling the flapper would fix some of that issue without affecting the sound too much. 
 

Also considered reinstalling the factory muffler and putting in a electric cutout. So I could go from super quiet to super obnoxious with a flip of a switch?
