Want 20-inch black rims - 2020 Sierra AT4

Good day fellow GM Truck Club friends,

 

I have a 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 (black) truck. When I bought this thing last March, I asked the dealer if I could simply trade my 20-inch silver/black rims for the black rims that come on the Elevation package trucks. Answer was simple: NO!

 

Questions:

 

1) Is there anyone out there that wants to trade me the rims on my AT4 for the black rims that come on the Elevation?

2) How would you go about painting or dipping your 20-inch AT4 rims, otherwise?

If you want them black then you should have them powdercoated. It will be the most durable and attractive finish. Just make sure they are sent to a reputable shop and they are media blasted first for good adhesion.

Good to know... I guess I can look around the Metro Detroit area for this. Not sure how I'd go about doing this without having a set of spare rims/tires.

Some places will do same day with tire mounting/balancing as well for a larger $.  At least there are a few places out here in my area that do.  Good luck.

 

Side Note: my last trucks OEM wheels were powder coated black with no issues after 8 years before I sold it.

Any advice for me? Do you think anyone would do a straight up trade of mine for the black ones (that you have)?

i think so. i am looking for some that are already gloss back. I find that the oem finish holds up better. i had my last sierra for 12 years and plan to have this just as long. so something that last is high on my list

I would have swapped straight up, but I moved out of Michigan to Florida back in October.

That's a damn shame... I'd have swapped... and still will, with anyone interested.

I’m getting ready to do the wheels on another one of my trucks. I’m just going to put her up on Jack stands.
