I have 53k miles on my 2018 and last weekend on my way from Jersey to WV the water pump blew up at Hagerstown, MD.  Ruined my trip BUT GM did right be me.  Happened on Friday evening.  GM towed to the Hagerstown dealership.  I had a place to stay as my in laws live 10 minutes from where I broke down.  On Saturday morning, GM offered to put me up or get me a loaner to finish my trip.  Got the part ordered Saturday, delivered/installed Monday and got me headed home.  Warranty covered.  For a bad situation, it turned out as good as it could have.

I don't have pics of the water pump but when I say it blew up, it was in pieces.

Yup.  Power Train covers it.  Explicitly called out in the warranty document.

I got to mine (2018 with 48k) just before it probably would have grenaded. Was making a sound like rocks tumbling. Took the belt off and it was obvious. Didn't get it covered by warrantee because I like wrenching, but broke a bolt off trying to get it out. So the simple replacement turned into a complete disassembly of front of engine (AC, Alt, brackets). Fun, but took a while. Also got new coolant and belts.

I have a 2018 with 44k on it. Water pump just grenaded last night. All servicing done on time and oil changes done at 4000 mile intervals.  As my truck is 1 month out of warranty, GM has denied any repair coverage and no reimbursement for out-of-pocket towing on a miserable winter Sunday night breakdown. You'd better believe everyone in a 500 mile radius will hear about their customer treatment and low quality manufacturing.
