GN2018 Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 My quest for a quieter truck has hit a snag. My truck has less than 200 miles on it and it’s squeaking like crazy. Sounds like a chirping bird. Much worse on bumpy roads, which we have plenty of in Michigan, but still can be heard on smoother roads. Is there really anything the dealer can do about this? I hate to start a process of giving them my truck and be inconvenienced only to get it back still squeaking. The worse thing is that it seems to be in the dash area. As much as I’d like to get ride of the squeaking, I don’t know if I’m ready to have them do anything close to disassembling the dash. Ugh! I know this sounds silly, but getting the Denali had a LOT, to do with getting a quieter ride. My 2018 didn’t have a quiet ride, but it didn’t rattle or squeak.
OnTheReel Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Mine squeaks from the defroster vent area on bumps when cold. Does it go away when you push down on the vent?

I’ll check that in the morning. Doesn’t seem to have anything to do with temperature though. It was 73 here today and a few days ago it was 40. Squeaked in both cases.
cltsig Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 I had a squeak on my 19 LTZ. Was worse when cold and sounded like it was coming from the dash area. Turned out to be a wiring harness rubbing on the transmission. Crawl under there and give it a look.

I am having trouble identifying it but it does seem to be coming from outside the passenger cabin. I was going to pop the hood tomorrow and see what I can see. I’ll look at the trans area.
