I've been using a sponge for years with good results, but have read that others get scratches using a sponge. So what do you use?

I use a boars hair brush. It's a a 12 inch brush with a hole in the handle so you can attach a broom handle. It's very soft and I can wash my truck in no time at all. The broom handle makes cleaning the roof very easy.

Cotton wash mitt or cotton towel, a sponge is ok for the wheels and tires, but with a sponge dirt and can be trapped in a sponge and when you press a little too hard you can get scratches, I saw this at many of our detail shops until we switched.

Cotton here as well. I usually get a new one about twice a year, and keep the old ones for my wifes car!

Thanks for all the replies, quess I'll switch to a mitt or cotton towel before it's too late. I've never heard of a boars hair brush, learn something new everyday.
