So I have a 2014, my ac compressor went out at 43k miles, now I have 63k. Last year I noticed the AC not keeping up.

This year it worked a little bit and after using it a couple times it’s dead again.

the first time I did it I was out of warranty and gm helped me a little and it ran me about $600.

This time I’m really pissed. I had it done at the dealer and it only lasted me 2 years and 20k miles.

The dealer wants $1300 to repair it. They said on monday they are going to contact gm, but I really don’t even want to pay $600.

Now we all know they probably did the repair wrong the first time. I have no doubt that refrigerant was contaminated with metal bits from the first failure. Can’t really prove that though.

How difficult is this to diy if I can’t get any help.

is there anybody at gm I can talk to?

Trade it in.

I've repeated my experience with my 2014 on here several times so I'll just summarize it quickly:

37k compressor exploded $1200

86k compressor failed again

87k drier replaced, lower hose replaced, Schrader valve replaced, condenser replaced

98k Schrader valve replaced

99k Schrader valve replaced, upper hose replaced

99k traded in for 2020.

I filed a case with GM, with BBB, with Michigan attorney General, all to no resolution.  Class action suit in progress with GM over last two years.  Very little progress on it.
