EDIT: Nevermind found the perfect Youtube vid and I am off to get a quick disconnect tool for my heater hose connector! Thanks anyway I am sure I will have more questions eventually! Hello, I have a 2001 Sierra 1500 w/4.3. Noticed I was slowly losing coolant and I have been able to find a leak on what I believe is the heater hose (could be wrong)...there are two hoses going into and out of the firewall. The one on the right, facing the vehicle, and I think is water flowing back towards the front, has a leak that I THOUGHT was just at the hose/clamp area but now I think it is the plastic connector behind it. I took a picture to help ID. I can twist this piece easily but it doesn't tighten or loosen, so I have a feeling there is perhaps a bad gasket involved? I need help with some info to order this part and/or how to remove. Feel free to enlighten me in any way.

Heater hose connector. There is a tool to remove it. Parts store will have it.

They make plastic replacements just like you have or Dorman has come out with an aluminum version. I've never had any problems with plastic versions breaking but some have. But I replace  mine whenever I replace hoses, every 6 years. Since there is an upgraded part now, I'll change to it next time
