The truck in question is a 2004 2500HD 6.0 2WD

I have replaced the carrier bearing twice in the last year and by the sound it is going out again.

It is the actual bearings that are the problem - the rubber surrounding it is intact.

I don't have any noticeable driveline vibration.

I don't abuse the truck.

All ujoints are good.

Any ideas that would help me determine what is causing this?

Are you pressing the bearing back on or beating the crap out of it with a pipe? Also are you using a GM bearing or aftermarket?

Aftermarket. Anchor if I remember correctly.

I mount the shaft in a vise then use pvc pipe the same size as the inner race to tap it back into place.

I have a GM bearing on order for the replacement this time.
