Hello,

I recently purchased 2021 at4 1500 take offs with tpms sensors to swap out for the winter. I have a 21 Denali with the black 22’s. Should I be able to relearn the at4 tires with the simple amazon relearning tool or do I need to do more than that? I’ve tried it and I can’t get it to work. I put it in relearn mode but can’t detect anything. With that said the amazon tool doesn’t work on my factory rims either. Am I missing something? I brought it to a discount tire place today and they couldn’t get their reader to work either. Although he didn’t really seem like he knew what he was doing. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

There shouldn't be any difference in the relearn procedure for various rims if you have the sensors in the rims.

Are you following the procedure in this clip?

Yes sir, I get the truck into learning mode the relearning tool, both my cheap one and the discount tire place’s one do not detect anything I.e. never gets a horn honk.

Are you sure the take offs have the sensors in them? The majority of the ones I've seen for sale, they remove the sensors. I have a cheap relearn tool and it works just fine. Make sure it does both 433 and 315MHZ. 2019+ use 433mhz sensors.

If neither your factory OE wheels that came on your '21 Denali or the take-offs will relearn, it would seem to point to the relearn tool.  Has the relearn tool you have ever worked for you?

If it were me, I would take my truck to the dealer and tell him my OE TPMS sensors won't relearn (tried it at an independent tire shop and it didn't work, tried it with your hand held relearn tool and also didn't work).  The receiver module in your Denali might be bad.  That is something the dealer should be able to nail down in about 5 minutes using their scan tool.
