Bobby Fields Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 (edited) I have a blown L86 motor 2016 Silverado LTZ 175,000 miles. I bought a 6.2 L86 out of Cadillac escalade 2017 40,000 miles. Can I just plug this ecu in and go. Edited December 22, 2021 by Bobby Fields Details

Well I guess I should have mentioned that I had a stage 3 cam and LS7 lifters and did delete with vvt delete. Really I'm just worried about vvt. 1
shakenfake Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Yes you are going to need to get a tune. What about vvt are you worried about, you won't retain it. 1
Bobby Fields Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 I put the lock in the cam phaser. And I was worried if I started this engine with my ecu there could be problems
Bobby Fields Posted December 23, 2021 Author Posted December 23, 2021 And can I drive it to be tuned or will. It not start
CamGTP Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 It will not run with the AFM delete and VVT lockout if it's un-tuned. If your 2016 Silverado computer was already tuned for the AFM delete it may start and run. Probably will throw a bunch of faults if the VVT is gone though or it may refuse to start. I don't think I'd drive it to a dyno but that is my opinion. Also most "stage 3" camshafts are kinda large and it will be kinda lazy without an aftermarket stall converter.
