Traded in 1500 for 2500

I just traded my 2015 1500 Z71 for a new 2500 custom.  I loved my old truck but just reached 100,000 miles and decided to let it go while it still had some value.   I picked up a silver 2500 custom gasser and although it’s lacking a lot of the toys my 1500 Lt had I am very happy with this new model.  I have read a lot of comments about the gas motors not having enough power but this truck even with the extra weight drives better then my 5.3 1500 ever did.

Nice, I replaced my 01 suburban 6.0 2500 last year with a 21 Custom 2500hd with the gas engine and it tows like a dream.I do miss the leather In my LT suburban but it was really hard to find leather in a LT silverado when I was looking.

Your 1500 is one sexy beast.  I'm betting it won't be too long before your new truck starts getting some "upgrades".   I really like the Custom model.  It comes with some great options that make it look good and work hard.  How do you like the ride and handling compared to your 1500?

 

Agree with you, that the new 6.6 gas engine does really well.  I also like the way the transmission shifts.  It feels like it makes the best of the torque curve.

Thanks. I really like the way the 2500 handles.  It’s very much reminds me of an old school Cadillac lol. The motor and transmission combo has much better low end then my 5.3 ever did. Even before the big tires my 5.3 always had a delay or lag and if you push too much on the pedal it would want to put the transmission into passing gear.  I’m going to try to resist the urge to lift it but I’m sure I’ll at least end up with a level. I’m starting with the steering wheel upgrade then probably leather seats.
