Question about Bose Upgrade

I’m not super familiar with car audio anymore. Would it be stupid to get a set of component 6x9’s and not use the crossover, just use the 6x9’s in the front door and wire the tweeter using the OEM wiring into the dash?

 

Would I be missing any frequencies?  
 

The Bose is pretty decent but I’m looking for some more clarity. 
 

Or if I got the “OEM” kicker sub and turned down the bass in the EQ would I get more clarity?

I'd expect you might get lower frequencies than you want in your tweeter if you just install the tweeter in place of the dash speakers. Sure would be a lot easier though, haha. I'd use the crossover.

 

Personally to try to get some clarity I punched up the treble to 5+ and went -4 mid with bass sitting at +2 (anything more and it's just boomy to me). I think the answer is definitely adding a sub. I think the 8" is fine, but since we can't control it and it all but disappears for anything other than rap I don't see another option.
