Hi,

I just had my rear bumper replaced at a shop.

Someone backed into the stock one and I bought an aftermarket one since the stock one was expensive and light-duty.

When I picked my truck up from the shop I noticed the two tailgate release buttons would not work if the doors are locked.

If I unlock the doors with the remote the multi-pro will open.  If I use the remote to open the tailgate it will open.

Is there a proximity sensor that senses the key fob at the back bumper?  I showed them it wasn’t working and they looked for unplugged wires but couldn’t find anything.

When I returned home I got under the truck and noticed a connector that wasn’t plugged into anything….

Picture is below.  Anyone know if there is a missing receiver module?

Thanks,

George

There is a proximity sensor antenna that plugs into this connector.  Found it in a google search.

I went back to the shop and asked the mechanic if he still had the bumper as there was an antenna in a bracket.

There wasn't a spot to install the bracket on the new bumper so we just zip tied the antenna to a wire harness and tucked it up out of the way and secured it.

The tailgate release buttons both work without digging my keys out of my pocket again...
