Help with phone/text notification.

Ever since I bought this truck (2021 Trail Boss LT) I can not seem to figure out how to get text notifications on my display or sound. I received and send phone calls without any issues. I checked the box on the Chevy link on the iphone to allow notifications and reconnected my phone and still nothing. I miss a lot of text while on the rode. Is there anyway to do this without plugging the phone it.  

Also my brother in-law has a 2021 Chevy LT (not a Trail Boss) and his display has multiple apps/icons that my truck doesn't. Any way to add apps. I dont have a store app like some vids talk about.

I recall this being a topic a couple years ago - GM took away the ability to get Text notifications with the standard infotainment.

 

It is a stupid removal if you ask me.

 

Only workaround that I have found is to plug in and make sure Android Auto is loaded - then AA (and I assume CP) will provide the notifications.
