Hey everybody.  This may come as dumb questions, but I'll ask anyway.  When I got my 2020 Sierra 1500 WT (base trim), it came with the Snow Plow Prep Package that came with the heavy duty front springs (unsure if shocks are different).  I believe it's the same front spring that they mentioned for campers.

1.  Do the upgraded front springs help in any respect with doing regular flat towing (AKA with a car trailer, non-gooseneck)?

2.  Has anyone swapped these springs out for a "normal" spring and noticed a significant ride quality difference?

3.  GM has a bunch of "codes" for the springs it seems.  Does anyone know how to translate these codes?  Basically would be looking for the "code" for a single cab, long bed, 4wd non-heavy duty spring...

Thanks for your time!

1/2 tons don't have camper springs, just plow prep.  Camper spring is an HD option code.

The front GAWR is no different with or without plow prep (weight capacity is identical of the front axle).

They are of a higher rate to help handle the added weight of a snowplow, that's about it.

I've driven some double cabs at work with and without plow prep, no noticeable ride differences.  Z71 vs regular 4x4 you'd see some difference but that's down to the Ranchos vs. the stock shocks.

Thanks for the real world feedback - much appreciated!
