I bought a refresh 2022 silverado LT with the regular tailgate.

I would like to have the multipro version, I haven't really found much info online, where could I buy it? and do any of you know if it will fit meaning the electrical plugs, etc.

Anyone have a multipro tailgate that would like to trade it for the regular one and some cash $$$ on my end?  my truck is color summit white.

From what I have read it's not possible to add to one that was not manufactured with that option. Wiring harness and computers being why

When the dealer was looking for a truck for me my must have option was the Multi Flex tailgate. They weren't having luck finding one and they looked into adding one and it was over $3K for just the parts. They then found that the wiring harness are different and the computer can't be updated to make it work properly. I did run across a thread where someone with a 2500 added one and somehow rigged the center gate to open, but it wasn't like factory though.

You can do it, somebody on here posted in the last month exactly how they did it and was able to make it work.  You will have to use the search function.

But it’s so much easier to just post without searching. Not like there haven’t been a dozen or more threads on this.

If I had decided to research other’s experiences I would have done so.

I decided to do my own post and take it from there.

It’s much easier to not participate on a thread when you have nothing to contribute towards the question. Personal opinions are not what the topic is for! Thank you

I see. Considering that information I rather keep what I have. Thank you for your response.

The experience of others give you the answer you’re looking for. That is, after all, what you’re soliciting by posting. Search and read. The information regurgitated in this thread is the same information in every other thread on the forum on this topic.

Parts alone would be expensive from GM.

Even if you get a tailgate, GM won’t make it work.

Some guy did the swap on an HD and it works with minor mods.

All of that information is on this forum, easily found by searching.

As I mentioned, if I wanted to search I would have gone that route but instead I decided to create my own post which anyone has the option to do so.

I hope that makes sense.

nestor, ive done it on my 2019 1500 LT that came with auto down non flex gate, check your factory plug for gate on body side of plug, if has 9 wires it will go down like yours does but not the multiflex part. the multiflex gate has the same plug

no biggie, just have to take back panel off main gate and attach zip ties to actuators for center part and then drill small holes for them to protrude thru and thus it will come down once both are pulled.  this option is well worth it.

U must have a multiflex gate off a 1500 to do on a 1500.. i purchased one off a later year LTZ and it went right on. i had to use bushings off my original gate, the cameras weren't the same so i used my original, little more work than many people may want to do but i am very capable of such things

Chevrolet dealers could do the programming but refuse, if a 19 GMC AT4 came with this option then surely a 19 cheby can be made to work as well, the BCM needs programming, but they not interested in the job, so they not getting my time or money, took them all day to make the correct lamp come on dash for factory added fogs

I have a 2025 Silverado double cab RST with the Duramax diesel.  It has the standard tailgate and I've watched some videos on how to get the multiflex tailgate to work.  I'm an electrican (among other things) and don't think I'd have a problem getting the wiring straight, I'm just not sure what years will fit my rig.  I'm pretty sure the 2500/3500 gates are different sizes, but does anyone know if a 2024 or earlier will fit on a 2025?  Thanks for your help...

HD gates won't fit the 1500 and vis a versa.

    • Heat is what kills them, the redesigned cooling system and that full temperature thermostat on the side of the transmission doomed them from day 1.  The heat eventually causes the clutch material on the plate to flex which then breaks up and runs throughout the transmission.     The GMT900s when serviced regularly, often run into the 200K mile range or more.  One 6L90 in an HD3500, pulled into the shop on its own power for overhaul at 320K miles at Precision Transmission a few years ago.
    • Nice! And thanks for the assurance I'm helping Pepper and not hurting her. 😉
    • I started doing this late last year as a habit and situationally for much much longer. Coincidently I've found 1500 rpm to be my trigger point as well.    It's the same sensation as a manual held in high gear at low speeds. You can feel it tearing itself apart. Don't let it!    I'll add this tidbit. When on a longer run at 50-55 mph and in M5 once up to speed I tap the tow button which will hold it in 5th gear and then ask for M6 to activate the AFM. When I have to slow to a speed that will downshift I go back to M5 then tap out of tow. Smooth as butter. I still use D for Interstate work above 54 mph. If I forget, it will remind me. LOL.
    • Thank you Phil 😉    https://uscommodityprice.com/difference-between-spot-price-futures-price/   Read the entire article but pay attention to the paragraph on 'Convergence at Expiration" and how the futures telegraphs the spot price. At delivery they are the same. Pump price responds directionally to the futures price. No they are not the same but at delivery they are indistinguishable. Good thing to or you'd be paying a thousand dollars a gallon for the stuff.      There is an definitive answer with an absolute and assured result. However that answer cannot be discussed on this site.    But I can say this. It is beyond the ability of any human or any group of humans no matter how well meaning. We have had thousands of years to prove we could and the results are dismal. Until then we have this:         And there it is.
    • I had a strange problem with my Avalanche. Yearly once the temperature started getting hot. It would freeze me out going to my walking trail about 8 miles. Nothing but hot air going home. My machanic would put the Freon in the machine vacuum the system. No leaks put the Freon back, good for the year. My brothers truck wouldn’t work at all until he did the same procedure. I believe he finally changed the expansion valve to solve his problem.
