I was thinking about the closest and easiest way to get power to my dash cam.   Looking at the overhead console I thought that might be a good source of power.  My thinking is I could tap into the power for the rear slide window, as this is keyed power.

My question(s) are has anyone used this as a power source?  How do you get to the rear window switch?  Should I be looking elsewhere for a power source?

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions!

My dash cam uses both constant source and switched sources. I use fuse taps and the fuse block on the passenger side of the truck. I can’t remember which  fuses, but it’s easy to find out which is fused and not with a multimeter.

I thought of going to the fuse block, but I thought it would be easier to run 12 inches of wire than trying to get the wire up from the fuse block and hidden along windshield.
