Just picked up a 2016 Sierra 1500 Denali. It's in nice shape overall, but the 20" polished/clearcoat aluminum wheels are peeling the clearcoat around the valve stems on all 4 wheels. Some are worse than others. On the worse ones, the corrosion has wrapped all the way around the lip of the wheel and appears to be corroding on/near the flange and bead.

I know that I cannot spot repair this, but what are my options? I do not want to buy a new set of GM wheels as I assume they will do the exact same thing. I guess I'm just left with aftermarket wheels or blasting/powdercoating these?

Just curious what others do in this situation. Looks like I'm not the only one.

Thanks all.

You will have to send them out for repair, that is the only way to fix them.

Or buy some take off wheels from a newer truck if you like the look, just get the same size rims. Then sell your old wheels for a little bit of money to lower the cost of buying the new used rims.

New wheels from GM would be the most expensive route unless you get some ungodly quote to fix your wheels. That sorta of work here in Minnesota is big business here, lots of dealerships and smaller outfits will get rims repaired.
