Big Ron Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Anybody know what these are? Located under bed on drivers side. Makes intermittent sound like a fuel pump with no gas in it.
GETGONE Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Evaporator pump for the fuel system to catch "harmful" vapors in the charcoal canister. Round thing is the pump, rectangular thing is the charcoal canister.
Big Ron Posted September 9, 2022 Author Posted September 9, 2022 Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
CamGTP Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 (edited) He's right on the one, the rectangular brick in the charcoal canister but the round one with the hoses is just a evap vent valve. There is no pump for the EVAP system. It uses engine vacuum when the purge solenoid opens up by the engine to suck in the vapors that are stored in the canister. A bad vent valve could make extra noise if it constantly opened and closed but they usually stick open which cause a check engine light to come on for a evap leak. But if you just hear it every now and then, it's just the computer opening and closing the vent to store vapor in the canister that will be burnt off later. Edited September 9, 2022 by CamGTP
