Power mirror won't open

I usually close my mirror in when I park to avoid anybody hitting them...  but went out today and the passenger one wouldn't come out - even after hitting the button a few times.

 

It can't be manually opened - at least I was too afraid to put any more force on it...

 

After a bunch of times it did finally open...  

 

Anybody seen this?  Anyone know how to open them if the motor won't?

Pretty common with the last three generations of trucks.

 

Just "pop" it open, cycle them 3 times with the switch, and they will catch up with the gears inside.

This issue used to be covered in the owner's manual.

It will open manually you have to pull on it pretty good and it will pop out. Once you move it in and out it will reset and should work normally.
