backspacing

I am considering purchasing a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. what will a 4 7/16" backspacing look like. I really don't what the wheels sticking out of the wheel wells too much. about how much will these rims stick out. I would like them to be plush with the body.

What kind of truck do you have? Does it have the factory flares? Does it have aftermarket flares? Does the truck have a lift kit? What width wheel do you want to run? What size tires? Do you like yellow or white american cheese?

I know if you have a stock 99+ truck without factory flares and the stock 265 tires, 4.5" of backspacing with put the sidewall buldge outside the body and the tire tread will be just about even with the fender.

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra SLT Z71 with stock wheel flares. I put on 16x8 Eagle Alloys series 118 with 4 1/2" back spacing. If you stick with the 8" width and back spacing close to 4 1/2" you should be good with the wheels and tires being flush with the wheel flares. Maybe a 3 5/8" back space if you don't have wheel flares. I have pics if you want to take a look.

sorry about that you guys prabably needed more details. I have a 99' Silverado Z-71. no after market flares. they are a set of 16x10 with 4-7/16" backspacing.

and actually pics would be great if anyone has the time.

If your going to put the stock 265s on those wheels, the tire tread will stick out about an inch. I don't recomend putting 265s on a 10" wheel. You'd be better off with an 8" wheel.

I had 31x10.50's on a 10" rims for about 50K miles with no problems. But in looking back, I probably should have gotten a wider tire. My brother in law has a 99 that he's getting 16x10 Eagle 058's, which look almost identical to the MT II's. It has 4.5" of backspacing. Don't have any pics just yet of it, he's putting 305's on them. I'll get a pic as soon as he gets them mounted for you. Chris

I know for a fact that if you use 16x8 wheels with back spacing of 4 1/2" you will have the tires/wheels flush with the fender. Mine looks pretty flush even with the factory flares. Are your 16x10s rubbing? Mine only rub when fully turned, but only slightly. Let me know your email and I'll send you a pic of my truck.
