I have a base model 3500, and there is a setting to pair bluetooth. It seems like to bring up apps like Maps, or Youtube Music, XM… that it only works with the cable. Otherwise I need to open the app and then I can skip songs and such with bluetooth. I’ve also found that if I enable bluetooth on my phone and connect the cable that it sometimes doesn’t work right.

I have a new (to me) 2022 Silverado 2500HD LTZ and I can not use any voice prompts via car play.  I can listen to texts, but I can not respond.  Does anyone know why this is happening?  Thanks in advance!

Is your iPhone up to date?  If not, update it.  Then, go into the carplay section in your settings and delete the vehicle and re-set up your phone to the truck for carplay.  Most of the time its an issue on the phone's end, but the vehicle is a possiblilty.

Also.  Make sure you have Siri on.  Also also.  When hooked to carplay in the truck, you have to press and hold the "voice" button on the wheel and listen for the Siri prompt.
