I'm looking for a Air Conditioning Condenser for a 1981 Chevy K5 Blazer.  All retailers are out of stock and don't appear to be getting any in soon.  Used in good condition accepted.

I'm not sure why they would to only sell maybe 1 unit every ten years if that...

You're probably going to end up having one made from scratch or jerry rig an existing one.

Yeah, I'm afraid you're probably right.  I spoke with a couple retailers, and they feel those condensers will never be made again.  Or, I may be able to find a good used one, hopefully.

Yeah, I contacted them.  They don't have any.  The have a "universal" but it won't work either.  The Blazer is pretty specific on placement.

1-800 RADIATOR is not a retailer, they have their own warehouses and supply repair shops, Other than that you are going to be looking at used I guess. Have you tried the restoration suppliers such as LMC truck and National parts depot etc

Yes, 1-800 Radiator is indeed a Retailer.  They have multiple warehouses and supply a few retailers like many other suppliers but make no mistake, they are a retailer.  I've purchased many a radiator and a few condensers from them.  Yes, I've tried every imaginable supplier, retailer and a few custom shops.  So far I've yet to hear back from a couple custom shops.  My goal looking on the forum is my last attempt to find one and imagine I'll only find used, if I can find one at all/

That probably fits pickups too if I was to guess so it is not an obscure part number. It may take hours on the phone calling individual radiator shops and a/c shops but someone will have that sitting on a shelf covered in dust. I assume you have had NAPA and the other parts stores do a nationwide search. Hopefully someone here can help. A large radiator shop may be able to make 1 for you unless as Tim stated it is for a restoration

Is this for a concours restoration or something? Anything that contains the refrigerant and close to the size of the original would work.

No, just a restoration.  An 81 Blazer has a pretty specific fit and there's nothing close that is going to work unless I feel like cutting up the core support or jery rigging it.  Look at the picture of it in the original post with the out reached fittings should tell you it's pretty specific.

I've contacted three custom shops so far.  Their answer so far is no.
