Hi,  2018 GMC Sierra Z71 4x4.  5.3L. 6L80E.     72,000kms.          I just replied the trans fluid, and filter with new OE filter, and top AMSOIL fluid.     Also, installed the updated 70 degrees thermo bypass valve.

Do I need to have the trans "learning" reset after a fluid/filter service?    I have read that these transmissions have adaptive learning to compensate for wear, fluid quality etc?

Or will it relearn itself after driving and adapt to new, clean, slicker fluid.   lol.

Thanks!

Like Grumpy Bear said, it'll be fine. The transmission adaptive shift learning is only really needed during the course of an overhaul, or TCM replacement. That said, there is a transmission fluid life monitor just like the engine oil monitor that can be reset through GDS2 or a higher-end scan tool.
