2016 Sierra 1500 - Valve Ticking - Replacement Part

Well, I purchased a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 3 weeks ago and OMW home the valves collpased causing a nice ticking noise. It's at the dealer now but they stated the valve manifold is on backorder without any idea of when theyll receive the part. 

 

Has anyone ran into this lately and how long this backorder took them??

No idea, so can't help you there. Back orders are always iffy, in my opinion. 

That sucks to just buy a truck & that happens. I'm curious, how many miles on your truck?

Yes, the VLOM backorder is bad right now.  No idea when the part will be healthy again to satisfy orders. 

 

They can likely get everything but the VLOM however, when there is an AFM failure, GM wants the VLOM replaced.  So just doing lifters is a 50/50 risk on re-using the old VLOM.
