Hello,

I am trying to find out if anyone here knows, has there been any design/part changes made since the 6L80 was introduced or at least from the K2 platform to the T1?

I have read so many articles and threads on the 6L80, but I have not found anything, if any changes even exist.

Thanks

They're a damn good trans with the Sonnax fixes and billet convertor. I now wish I had bought a '14 with 6.2 and kept it. These trans were the best mpg/towing comprise.

Thank you.

I will be putting 30-40k miles on this truck a year, if not a little more, with my new job and personal tasks. So I plan on trying to keep in for 5-6 years, if possible.

Just purchased this truck last week, it was a leased truck.

My current employer, soon I am changes jobs, has a 2016 1500 4.3l with the 6l80 and the transmission/engine has 215k on with no major issues.

2019-2021 they have a newer torque converter with a CPA or Cetrifugal Pendulum Absorber on the front end of it to help ease AFM V8 to V4 to V8 transitions.  That was pretty much the only change.

They still use a thermostat on them (all 3 transmissions do).

I have a 2020, 4.3 L, 6l80. My truck doesn’t have 43,000 miles on it yet, and has had two thermal bypass valves put in. It has also had a torque converter put in at 30,000 miles.
