2015+ Suburban/Escalade frame identiacal with the Silverado HD frame?

Hello,

 

i recently hear that apparently, the frame under the Suburban/escalade/1500 Silverado is the same (beside the rear independant suspension mounts) as the heavy duty frame under the Silverade 2500/3500? Would be interesting and also somewhat massivly overbuilt right? Since the Expedition "only" uses the F-150 frame?

Not at all.  The 1500 SUV frame is derived from the 1500 pickup frame but the rear section is specific to the SUVs because of the independent rear suspension.

 

HD trucks have a totally different frame.
